The Gadsden-Etoway (Alabama) Industrial Development Authority said Jan. 22 that Koch Foods, one of the largest poultry processing companies in the United States, is planning an expansion to its existing facilities in Gadsden, AL.
Koch has more than 13,000 employees across all locations, including 1,040 currently in Gadsden. The company previously expanded the Gadsden plant in 2018 with an $80 million investment, and added a new poultry feed-mill in nearby Attalla, AL in 2019.
As of early 2019, Koch Foods was the fifth-largest poultry producer in the US by market share at 5.53 percent. It's locations are in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee.
